Journalism often is the common ground of media. Most media today are owned by giant corporations that are nonmedia companies. Companies like Disney, Comcast, and AT&T/Warner Media are a few examples. The bigger businesses often do not have competition, making prices higher for the average consumer. People are often the product of the things they use. For example, all social media apps may be free, but social media consumers are the product.
Furthermore, this is because social media uses different advertisements to help pay for their product. Those who often control or own these large corporations, plus the media, are the owners. Those who control the media are media owners, advertisers, the government, special interest groups, sources, and audiences. New innovative ways of providing media have increased over many years. As a result, this allowed journalists to essentially “change clothes.” The change in media changed journalism, which allowed journalism to be broader. Media has become more digital, and the expansion of technology only creates more abundant ways to use the media. Journalists and media members publish digitally before paper or physical copy. Online websites, newspaper articles, and news sites often allow consumers to view some content for free, but unlimited access requires a subscription. Paywalls are created based on this idea and result in less traffic. Somebody must pay the stock owners. Owners can answer government and advertisements.
Media has become more hyperlocal, explaining the geographic niche side of things. Niche is like the life side of media describing education, environment, politics, and public safety. Furthermore, non-profit journalism and hybrids have become new forms of journalism. Journalism is constantly changing, but the change is always for the better. If it bleeds, it leads Journalists to adapt to the recent changes. Journalism must explain why to help people make informed decisions. Journalism has the freedom and right to produce news, but journalists could cause friendships, conflict, and even tension between them and their bosses by just telling the truth. To become a journalist, you must be prepared to tell the truth no matter what, report everything, and consistently report unbiased information. This industry takes focus, commitment, dedication, and hard work. Journalists must be ready for anything and do their job no matter the circumstance. Journalists are becoming more valuable as they correlate with the media.

Images are a vital part of journalism. There are many pictures from around the world. Many of these pictures represent things not just in journalism, these things impact people’s daily life. Advertising is another way a certain image can be portrayed. Advertisements usually show the product being advertised is ok to use. For example, some beer companies promote their beer through different advertisements. This could be seen as advertising the wrong product because beer is not healthy for the human body. In journalism, an image can define the outlook of a particular story. Images give audiences an idea of a story, and images can give a clearer picture of news within a story. Signs and symbol systems allow people to better understand pictures by creating an encoding process. In addition, Images also can be interpreted in a plethora of ways. Lighting, facial expressions, and angles are one of many ways that can determine the outlook of a story. Knowing the feelings of others is key in the journalism field. It helps journalists decipher whether they will be able to gather information. Images create a photo perspective on the things that are being reported, and photos can help people comprehend the story better. Pictures can also show dialogue, and they can help journalists gather extra information based off the quoters form the dialogues. Photographs are like recordings as they decode certain places or sites. Pictures are particularly important as they can be the very thing that gives evidence to an audience, and they help paint the picture to a story.
Ethical journalism is when a journalist seeks and reports the truth. Journalists owe their audiences the truth. Morals refer to religious or philosophical type behavior’s that that may or may not be rational. Ethics helps decide what is good for individuals and society. Journalism is a profession where things must be done correctly (when writing), or everything will go haywire. Journalists can follow ethics to help maintain their job. In addition, Journalist should always remember perfect duties. Theses duties are fidelity, nonmaleficence, respect for others, and formal justice. Imperfect duties of journalist (ones are beneficence, gratitude, disturbance justice, honesty, and self- importance. In addition, not sounding biased can be huge in the Journalism field. Utilitarianism often provides the greatest happiness for students on campus. I aspire to be a journalist, but I must always remember to celebrate people. As a journalist, it is always best to be authentic, accountable, and transparent. Following the golden mean means treating others the way you would want to be treated. Journalist job is to always stay focused and work hard to be the best. Doing things ethically the right way always led to fantastic results. Journalists can only report the news, and they usually will not state the region unless acted upon. Everything should always be trusted and verified. Breaking the morals and ethics of journalism can lead to a person getting fired, less news being reported and tension between publications. As journalists all we have is our name. The best thing to do is to always keep your name clean from any harm, danger, and false narratives. Morals and ethics are very instrumental in the journalism field, and they will always be there to keep journalists engaged throughout the whole city/ world.
The first freedom is considered the first law protecting the freedom of the press. The freedom of the press is the right for newspapers, magazines, etc. to report news without being controlled by the government. This allows reports to have freedom in what they publish. In addition, journalists can publish things about the government without getting in trouble. Freedom of the press is freedom to publish without a law. On the other hand, this could cause tension between Journalists and government. Journalists have always been known to keep secrets. Keeping secrets becomes a problem when those who enforce the law need information. Government also cannot go against prior restraint. Prior restraint is material published on harmful grounds. Although Journalist can publish most thing without getting in trouble, they still must follow rules or permission laws like privacy laws, intrusion, false light, and appropriation. Every person has a right to privacy and journalists that invade people’s privacy can get sued. Journalists cannot give false light or exploit someone’s name. Journalists are to always report news without breaking privacy and personal rules. In addition, Journalist must remember to always do their jobs to keep track of up-to-date news. Finding the truth is imperative for a journalist. Fake news can cause many conflicts between citizens, the government and those within the industry. Avoiding fake news and following all the rules allows journalist to stay safe in a ruthless society. Knowing all the rules as a citizen is the key for journalists to succeed in a constantly changing industry.
There are many styles that things can be written in and interpreted. The best style for a journalist is AP style. AP stands for Associated press. “The Associated press is an independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting.” The AP style of writing keeps journalists precise and honest. In addition, it allows them to write things in the correct grammatical order, and it helps them to share more accurate news. AP style keeps grammar errors low allowing audiences to read articles and newspapers clearer. Furthermore, AP style creates a clearer language for those viewers who read the news reports. To succeed, journalists must know the rules. Not knowing the rules will cause failure in the journalism industry. Knowing the AP style helps keep job security, and the ability to bend the rules. The more journalists know, the more it helps increase their longevity for the future. As an aspiring journalist, I must study and learn the AP style book to know all the rules, regulations, and correct way to pronounce and say things. This will allow me to stay current in a field that is always changing clothes. In addition, learning new ways to be accurate and learning the new rules of AP style will help me to stay current with everything the industries provide. AP updates every two years of, and it forces journalists to stay current with the new changes. AP Style is an enormous part of the success of many journalists, and many journalists would not have clear concise news if AP style never existed.
What is the news? News is newly received or worthy information, especially about recent or momentous events. News is the key to building an interesting story. Stories that flow within the news values are how news is curated into something important. Sources are another key method to attain information to create news stories. Journalists should always verify their sources. Fake sources lead to fake news. False facts, old news, fake sites are three examples that are the heartbeat of fake news. The key to the news is the truth. Telling the truth is the most efficient way to explain news. Untrue news confuses people, and it can cause division among networks, employees and even sometimes the government. News must be accurate, consistent, and current to keep others’ interest.
